Dr. Dwight Dishmon

Cardiologist

Dr. Dwight Dishmon is an interventional cardiologist at Metropolitan Cardiovascular Institute located at 1975 Nonconnah Boulevard in Memphis, TN. He was previously employed at The University of Tennessee and Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare from 2009 to 2021.

He was the first physician in the country to use the Avinger Pantheris ™device, a new technology used to provide relief for the treatment of peripheral artery disease which allows him to see inside a vessel during a procedure. This is one of several new technologies that Dr. Dishmon has tried to make sure that his patients get the most innovative non-surgical techniques available in the industry.
Dr. Dishmon was born and raised in Indianola, MS. He received his bachelor’s degree in Microbiology/Bacteriology from Southern University in Baton Rouge, LA and his doctorate of medicine from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) in Memphis. He did his internal medicine residency and general cardiology fellowships at UTHSC and his interventional cardiology fellowship at Borgess Medical Center at Michigan State University in Kalamazoo, Michigan. He has been board certified in Internal Medicine, Interventional Cardiology and Cardiovascular Diseases.

Dr. Dishmon receives daily inspiration from his children. He enjoys attending Memphis Grizzlies games, golf, traveling, cooking and dining out.
